“I Am looking Forward To Playing Against Wayne Rooney”- Vincent Kompany

Wayne Rooney is currently in top form, and scored his 200th goal for United against Bayer Leverkusen. At the same time, Vincent Kompany was playing his first game of the season for City as they beat Viktoria Plzen.

Kompany is eager to face United in the coming game, especially an in-form Wayne Rooney, as stated by Kompany.

“Any manager would want his players at their best. I am very happy that he is doing very well. Playing against top strikers is the greatest thing about the Premier league”, said Kompany.

David Moyes has had a great record against City. He has won 10 out of the 14 games he has played against them. However, Kompany believes that Moyes’ previous successes would not matter on Sunday. “Our team has a different look. It is a new season. Nothing has been very predictable in the derby”, he said.

“Last season, we defeated Manchester United 6-1 at Old Trafford and they would beat us in our place as well. So, statistics and records need not be given too much thought and attention. Derby’s are not very predictable. All of us look forward to Derby games. The rivalry is not just in the city of transfer. Different clubs have their own derby matches. It garners a lot of attention throughout the world”, he added.

“Nobody takes derby games for granted. I feel that I am blessed to participate in those games. One wants to perform to his fullest potential to win these games”, he voiced out.
