Launch Of BBM For Android And iOS Postponed

BBM was supposed to reach Google Play yesterday, at 4:30 pm and the App Store at 12:01 am today. When the app was wasn’t available at the Google Play store, all users were confused. BlackBerry has announced that it has ‘paused’ the launch of the app for iOS and Android for now since it has to deal with the problems the leaked version of BBM caused. But the iOS version has been made available in some regions.

The company tried it’s best to sort out the issues all day, but didn’t quite manage it. Apparently, more than 1.1 million users have downloaded the app already. It also said that users that have downloaded the iOS version already can continue to use it, but the app will not be released to any new markets. Also, the leaked version will be disabled.

BlackBerry stated that it’s planned a “staggered country roll-out” for BBM for Android, and restart the whole roll-out for iOS. There’s been no word on the new release dates. They’ve just said that “our teams continue to work around the clock to bring BBM to Android and iPhone, but only when it’s ready and we know it will live up to your expectations of BBM.”
