Schalke have given the confirmation that Kevin-Prince Boateng is joining as a mid-fielder from AC Milan on a four-year deal.
Schalke remains in the link of several players, including Lukas Podolski, Ronaldinho, Samuel Eto’o, Fabio Quagliarella, and Emmanuel Adebayor recently.
Boateng was born in Berlin and returns to Germany four years after his loan spell at Borussia Dortmund in 2009 and speculation suggests that his exit could pave the way for Real Madrid’s Kaka to return to the San Siro.
“He is exactly the reinforcement we needed and had wished for,” Schalke CEO Clemens Tonnies said.
This season he played for Milan in the Champions League, despite all these, Boateng is available for selection for Schalke during the group stage, according to UEFA’S 18.07 rule.
Boateng said on Friday evening: “The Bundesliga is the best league in the world and the best players also belong there. I’m delighted to be back home. I’m absolutely delighted that I can play for a top club like Schalke. This is a new challenge for me.”
