Kerslake Not Interested In Being Manager Of Cardiff On A Permanent Basis

David Kerslake, who replaced the former manager Malky Mackay in Cardiff City’s 2-2 draw with Sunderland on Saturday, Dec. 28, stated he does not want this job on a permanent basis.

The 47-year-old was spotted stating to BBC Sport: “I was asked by the chairman [Mehmet Dalman] to take the team on a temporary basis. With all respect I am not interested in this job because I love being a coach rather a manager.”

The report also mentioned, Kerslake promised to hold his current position as interim manager when The team take on Arsenal on New Year’s Day, but Cardiff is intent to find a new manager before January 4, which is the date the team has to travel to St. James’ Park on to play against Newcastle in Round 3 of the FA Cup.

Kerslake who followed Mackay from watfort in 2011, took over as caretaker manager when the 41-year-old Scotsman was sacked on Friday

Cardiff dominated the opening hour and jumped to a 2-0 victory against Sunderland who are placed currently at the bottom of the table. But Steven Fletcher 83rd minute shot , and Jack Colback struck late in injury time to grab a point which absolutely stuned Cardiff.

Which is may be of the reason Kerslake wouldn’t want to manage after a debut like that.

According to BBC Sports’s Rob Phillips, The teams is aiming to get hold on the former Manchester United star Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, favorite of Sir Alex Ferguson and current Molde manager.

Fergie himself quoated and expressed his views upon the 40-year-old Norwegian, The Guardian’s Marcus Christenson:

Ole always wanted to stay in the game, so from an early age he was preparing to stay in the game as a coach or as a manager. He was always one of the professionals who used to take down all the notes from the training sessions and games.

He has got an inner toughness, there’s no doubt about that. If you go to a club in Norway that have never won the league in their history and you win the league you have to have something about you.

Combine Solksjaer with owner Vincent Tan’s willingness to open up the checkbookin January, and it seems like a perfect recipe for The Bluebirds to avoid relegation in their first season in the EPL.

It was noted by The Sun that mentioned Sir Alex advising his former player not to take the offer.
