Karen Stocks Hired As The First Australian MD Of Twitter

Karen Stocks will henceforth manage the Social media platform Australian Base as a Managing Director of the firm for the country. Mumbrella reported back in January about the opening of Australian firm, which was later officially announced by Twitter as its first step into the country.

Being Twitter’s vice president of emerging markets, Asia Pacific and Latin America Shaliesh Rao reported to Mumbrella that Karen has been hired to run our business in Australia as Karen brings a wealth of relevant experience to Twitter. In her time at Google, Karen has had experience to mobile business as she thought a lot about the social business and has worked a lot with the YouTube and online sales business in Australia.

He further added that, a continuous strong commitment to the Australian market means a lot and is extremely important to them and that can be a source of modernism and business expansion. Stocks who was previously the managing director for mobile and social solutions for the APAC region of Google, will now be seen joining Twitter implement the same role, in which she oversaw the Google’s commercialisation and sales policy for all countries in the Asia Pacific.

When interviewed by Mumbrella’s Tim Burrowes while working at Google, Stock explains that, the company said that it was continuing to hire and would be making further accompaniments to its sales and partnership teams, after they announced the appointments of Jono Simpson and Danny Keens earlier this year.
Although the company turned down to state the number of Twitter users in Australia, they said the new actions was a symbol of confidence in the market. A spokeperson from the company positively said that, a part of what they are indicating with the appointment of Danny and Karen, is a self-confidence in the significance of the Twitter platform to the broad base of Australians.

The company claims that there has been constant growth in their usage in Australia across the country and that they look ahead to continue
