Universal Picture’s decision to delay the release to the much awaited sequel to Jurassic Park back in May left many disappointed. The crisis has, however been reverted now that the studio (According to Variety) has officially given the movie an official release date. The film would be in theaters on the 12th of June, 2015 with a brand new title: Jurassic World. The shift of the release date from 2014 to 2015, according to sources, took place when the studio decided to give director Colin Trevorrow and producer Pat Crowley enough time to create their own draft of the script (The film was originally scripted by screenwriters Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver). Despite the numerous rumours, one is not sure of the official plot details, which have still not been given out by the studio yet. The summer of 2015, many say, could be the greatest block buster season Hollywood would ever witness.
Apart from Jurassic World, Hollywood studios have also established major movie releases like Joss Whendon’s The Avengers: The Age of Ultron; J.J Abrams’ Star Wars: Episode VII; Zack Snyder’s BatmanVs Sumperman movie; Alan Taylor’s Terminator Reboot; Edgar Wright’s Ant-Man and Rolan Emmerich’s Independence Day sequel. With Ant-Man and Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales having already shifted their 2015 schedules, the news of Jurassic World doing so is the third one this year. Despite a;; the major releases due in 2015, Jurassic World does not seem to be threatened by much competition. Instead it is surrounded on either side by Dreamworks Animation’s B.O.O: Bureau of Otherworldly Operations (5th June 2015), and the video game adaptation Assassin’s Creed (19th June 2015). With the title and the release date out, the production now aims at starting the casting process. Prior to the delay, rumours of Bryce Dallas Howard, David Oyelowo and Garrett Hedlund being taken in for the film were heard. Apparently, no shift in the plan has taken place yet and this does seem to be the selected caste, at least for the time being.
