Liverpool Midfielder, Jordan Henderson knows that a place in the team has become progressively difficult and is decisive to fight for his place in the team. It was believed that Henderson would leave Anfield last year, when he was offered to Fulham as they failed to sign Clint Dempsey. However, that didn’t happen to the Under-21, England International. He is keen to impress Brendan Rodgers and has managed it to an extent, when he was selected to play against Stoke, last Saturday.
Henderson was more than happy that he got a chance to play after such a long wait for Liverpool. “I am happy that I got the chance to play, and I believe that is the same for everyone”, said the prolific midfielder. Rodgers picks his team depending upon the opposition and their weaknesses and Henderson knows it as well. “Having such a large squad, it is always difficult to cement my place in the team, but I am giving it my best shot”, said the 23-year old. After having won their opening fixture at home, he was all praise for Simon Mignolet, who made two brilliant saves at the penalty and the follow-up as well. A 1-0 victory might seem marginal, but it is a victory, nonetheless. Henderson had seen him perform exceptionally well, when Simon was in Sunderland and strongly believed that he is indeed, a value addition to the team. Mignolet’s debut match promised all Liverpool fans that they can look forward to many clean sheets in the coming games.
