The movie “Horns” that was inspired and made from the novel written by Joe Hill in 2010 is all set for it’s premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival. The movie puts Daniel in a very new and unnerving character as he said to face a more demonic self than what he faced in Harry Potter. The movie is directed by Alexandre Aja.
The book in itself is a dark fantasy novel that incorporates contemporary fantasy, crime fiction and gothic fiction. It is mainly about Ig Perrish, the character played by Radcliffe, who—in the aftermath of his girlfriend Merrin Williams’ mysterious rape and murder—awakes one morning to find horns growing from his head and diabolical powers at his command.
He realizes that their power drives people to confess their sins and give in to their most selfish and unspeakable impulses. This proves to be an effective tool in his quest that helps him discover the true circumstances of his late girlfriend’s tragedy. The aim of the protagnist is to get revenge for the death of his beloed girlfriend.
The story in itself is a beautifully written tale of regret, redemption and retribution, and it’ll be interesting to see how Aja and co have brought it to life. Until Horns finds a distribution company, however, there likely won’t be much chance of seeing footage outside of Festivals.
James Remar, Kelli Garner, Max Minghella and Kendra Anderson also feature in the film.
