PlayStation will shortly enter the HBO Go family, with apps for the service coming on to the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4. HBO CEO Richard Plepler declared the news at the first Buzzfeed Brews event in New York.
With the app, HBO cable subscribers will relish unlimited on-demand content. According to a post on the official PlayStation blog, the app is “coming soon” and will arrive 1st on PS3 before eventually making its entry to the PlayStation 4. A timetable wasn’t shared, however the announcement created mention of the approaching fourth season of Game of Thrones, which will begin in April.
The Xbox 360 is presently the only game console with HBO Go access that includes special second-screen content alongside select videos.
