Google Glass To Be Launched Soon

How will you feel if before clicking a picture all you need to do is say – “Take a picture”. If recording a video could be hands-free. When all you need to do is talk to send a message. Finding directions could never be this easy. When every question that has ever troubled you is answered instantly. All this and much more is the aim of the new Google Glass.

Google Glass is an effort by the Google team to make computers wearable. It’s effectively a smart pair of glasses with an integrated heads-up display and a battery hidden inside the frame.

Wearable computing is not a recent idea, but Google’s colossal bank account and never say never attitude means that Project Glass would soon be one of it’s kind to make this vision see light of the day.

The core of Google Glass is it’s tiny prism display which sits a little above the eye. The glasses have an embedded camera, microphone, GPS and use bone induction to generate sound. Voice control is used to control the device; you say ‘ok glass’ to get a range of options including taking pictures, videos, send messages using speech to text, ‘hang out’ with people or get directions to somewhere. You access these options by saying them out loud. Most of this functionality is self-explanatory. Hang out is Google’s video conferencing technology and the directions use Google Maps and the inbuilt GPS to help you find your way. Many prospective details suggest that Wi-Fi and Bluetooth would be used to transfer pictures.

Google Glass seems to have created 2 groups. One who are all geared up and excitedly waiting for the arrival of this wearable computing system and the other who are crying foul over it’s privacy. Well, we hope Google is able to take the world by storm and is successful in it’s attempt to bring out the Google Glasses before the end of this year.
