Gamers who are planning to grab Xbox One, there is a news for you. As soon as you boot up your ‘One’, it will require Internet to download & install system update on day one.
This can be a bit of let down for early adopters of One, but Microsoft says this was pre-planned schedule due to differences in Project deadlines & schedule of Hardware, Software team.
The download is a onetime setup & users won’t require to go online for gaming unless they plan to use online features of game.
This is what Xbox One chief product officer Marc Whitten has to say:
“There was always going to be a day one update on the console, and that’s frankly just a difference in manufacturing schedules versus software schedules, We just wanted to be clear that that hasn’t changed, that you have to go online to get the software update for day one, then you wouldn’t have to be connected after that.”
