According to the reports, The Wall Street Journal’s Evelyn Rusli and Douglas MacMillan revealed that Facebook had offered a lot of money to Snapchat CEO Evan Spiegel and about a month ago Snapchat CEO Evan Spiegel claimed that the Company never got any legal acquisition offer from a large company.
Snapchat is no doubt has became a large company and have acquired lots of dollar in previous financing, so if Snapchat goes to zero, Spiegel and Murphy will still be millionaires.
Snapchat is basically a very interesting app, as it allow users to send messages and videos to their friends which disappears from the entire database after some time and can’t be seen ever again.
“According to people briefed on the matter, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg tried to approach the start-up to discuss an acquisition above $1 billion,” Rusli and MacMillan write. “However, Facebook was rebuffed by Spiegel, who was not interested in selling his service to the social network, according to those people.” Facebook and Snapchat did not return their requests for comment.
