Facebook declared it’s decision to introduce an auto-play feature to ads, last month. Recently, TechSport announced that Facebook might begin a test on its mobile app (similar to the “trending feature”), prior to the final introduction of the Auto-Play feature. While this feature is meant to make video viewing easier on our feed, it would also bring along with it an invasion of privacy by ad videos.
Like the “trending topic” feature, Auto-Play for videos would also be accessible by a select number of users. Auto-Play will only begin by first playing on our friends’ pages, along with those of musicians and bands. With the introduction of this new feature, users can now prepare themselves to be hounded by advertisements and some amount of disappointment too.
