EA’s Origin digital distribution service has ostensibly fallen victim to a DDoS attack. The attack brought down log-in servers, preventing users from gaining access to the digital service via the net or via games that utilize it, including -as CVG has verified- via Battlefield 4 and also the Battle Log companion app. The attack was initiated at around 7pm PST. Origin servers remained unprocurable at the time of the report. A hacker organization that refers to itself as ‘Derp’ has claimed responsibility for the attack in posts via Twitter. “We’ve directed the Gaben laser beam @ the EA login servers. Origin #offline,” aforementioned the Derp feed. This comes simply days after the same organization claimed to have been accountable for variety of comparable attacks that brought down many different game services together with League of Legends, EA.com, Battle.net, Dota2 and many others.
