Despite Lance Armstrong’s biopic still being filmed, Stephen Frears is looking to recruit more actors. The latest to join the film is Dustin Hoffman.
Hoffman would join the film when the production goes to America for its shoot. The details of the character played by him are not revealed yet. Frears is adapting John Hode’s book which was earlier adapted from David Walsh. Apparently, Walsh knew about Lance Armstrong and his doping charges much before it came out in the open. Chris O’ Dowd is playing Walsh and Ben Foster is set to play Lance Armstrong. His world of lies is likely to strike a chord among the audience. The shooting is expected to go on till spring and the film is bound to be out somewhere in mid-2014.
Incidentally, this is Hoffman’s second venture with Frears. He had earlier starred in ‘Accidental Hero’ in 1992. Hoffman is also working on ‘The Cobbler’ (Tom McCarthy). He also has Jon Favreau’s Chef under his belt. Interestingly, his name has been closely attached to the music drama, ‘The Boychoir’. The film also stars Alfred Molina and Kathy Bates.
Hoffman joins Lee Pace in the Armstrong film. Lee Pace would also be seen playing the Elf king, Thranduil in ‘The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug’. The film would be hitting the screens on Friday.
