Cristiano Ronaldo has opened a museum in his name and has announced that the extra room would be filled by the trophies which he would win in the future.
Having had a phenomenal career with Real Madrid, Cristiano, 28 is on the three-man short list to be announced the Ballon d’Or winner for the second time.
“It is definitely a special day. I want to win as many trophies as possible and if I win the Ballon d’Or, there is space in my room for me to keep it. No one will take my trophies away from the museum and I want my awards to seen by the general public”, he said.
Before Cristiano joined Real Madrid, he had won three premier league titles, one Champions league, one FA cup, one FIFA world player of the year title, when he was in Manchester United.
He started off from where he left after he joined the Spanish Giants. He was instrumental in his team winning the Copa Del Rey in 2010-11 and La Liga 2011-12 under ‘the special one’, Jose Mourinho.
A large number of reporters gathered around him after he opened his museum, which is currently at the ground floor of a five-storey building.
Barcelona forward, Lionel Messi and Bayern Munich winger, Frank Ribery are the other two who are in the running for the 2013 Ballon d’Or. The winner of the award would be announced in Zurich on the 13th of January.
