Quinton Coples illustrous career is now hit by an ankle injury and is considered to be “out indefinitely”. He was expected to make the move from the defensive end to linebacker and people believed that he would be the ideal candidate if he could understand his position under boss, Rex Ryan.
The news was conveyed by The Jets on Saturday evening and his ankle is scheduled to be operated on the coming Tuesday.
Plaugued with injuries, he also picked up a hairline fracture in his ankle against the Jaguars – a preseason game. We are not sure whether it was that injury, which has been escalated or the Jets are covering it up with a new injury. ‘Indefinitely’ is not a nice word to hear – specially for any sportsman. To become fully fit, it might take months to years.
It is likely that Coples is missing out on the entire season, if not the next as well. Jets lack a real talent at linebacker and Coples had been there for them in all their previous seasons.Antwan Barnes is expected to take up Cople’s role along with Muhammad Wilkerson , Sheldon Richardson, and Kenrick Ellis.
