On December 30, a lawsuit was filed against Facebook alleging that the company scans the messages containing links and targets with the tailored advertisements.
The lawsuit was filed with the U.S. District Court in the Northern District of California on behalf of two named plaintiffs, Matthew Campbell and Michael Hurley, claiming that Facebook mines private data contained in messages for user profiling.
Meanwhile, the company have yet not released the official statement on this matter, but the spokeswoman for the company said that these all claims are “without merit”.
