Cabaye Transfer Issues Cleared

Yohan Cabaye, Newcastle midfielder has confirmed that he has no ideas of leaving the club in the near future and justified by declaring that his only focus was the club’s climb up in the Premier League.

The France international has been wanted by many clubs like Gunners and Paris St Germain in recent weeks. With rumors all over the web stating his transfers the 27 year old revealed that his full focus was on his team’s clash against Manchester city due this Sunday.

Cabaye was spotted on BBC Radio Newcastle stating:“For me to go to Paris or another club, there is nothing. I just want to be focussed on the next game, Man City.”

“Nothing is happening for me. When you know what you want, it is easier.”

The France international also admitted that it was tough to keep his focus intact with so much of talks moving around during the transfer period.

“I think it’s hard for every player. It depends what the player wants — if he wants to leave or if he wants to stay,” Cabaye continued.

“There is every time speculation about the transfer, even in January, so it’s hard for the player, the club and the fans, for everybody.

“It is not a good period for everybody. We just have to stay away from that speculation and stay focused on our job, and my job especially.”

Earlier, Newcastle boss Alan Pardew said that he has all faith on Cabaye and even admitted that his midfielder has a “Prime Position” in the squad.

“It doesn’t worry me,” Pardew said. “The point you are raising is something that has been raised at an international level, it’s not isolated to Yohan Cabaye.

“Whether that’s possible, I don’t know, it’s not my department, if I am honest.

“The most important thing is that he has two years left on his contract in the summer and we are looking forward to him playing for Newcastle for the rest of this season, and we will take it from there in the summer.

“There will be reports about him every day because he is a class player. The situation with him is easy: he is a Newcastle player, he is very focused on us.

“As I have said all along, he gets prime position in our team, and that’s a luxury you don’t get at all the top teams, so for him, it’s a good position and for us, it’s a good position for us to have him.”
