Brett Brown, 52 can now be the new coach for the coachless team Philadelphia 76ers.
Brown, was in talks this Friday night with Philadelphia related to terms and finances. He along with new GM Sam Hinkie, will be at the head of a major rebuilding project with the 76ers, who finished last in Atlantic Division last season. Coach spot for Sixers has been vacant since Doug Collins resigned in April.
Brown was earlier assistant with the San Antonio Spurs, three NBA title teams with San Antonio and helped them to the NBA Finals last season, with team losing to the Miami Heat in seven games, year after moving to the Eastern Conference semifinals.
The new coach will raise the interest in the long-running rivalry between the Devils and the Philadelphia Flyers, playing in same building- Wells Fargo Center, as Harris’ 76ers.
Brown is now designated with pulling up the team with Star players like Bynum and Collins who couldn’t perform due to injuries.
