BBC has announced that it will broadcast Wimbledon this year in 3D. It will only cover selected matches, including the men’s and women’s finals and semi-finals. It can be seen to those who have enabled Red Button Service and supported sets. Last year’s UEFA Champions League final was broadcasted in 3D too.
xTwo years back, Wimbledon had its first 3D broadcast and now BBC is experimenting with 4K coverage, this year with Sony, albeit on fine grounds.
The network has said that it would increase its live streams from six to ten with its You Tube coverage, so that entire UK can watch the program and can blame themselves, if they missed it.
