In Capital One Cup update, Brighton was beaten 3-1 at home by Newport. Brighton head coach Oscar Garcia, was not very happy with the defeat as he quoted “We had many chances to score and win the game but Newport were more accurate than us”.
Danny Crow, the County substitute cancelled out opening move of Ashley Barnes and scored again in the first period of extra time, while Conor Washington added a third goal to the list confirming the win.
Byron Anthony, Newport defender scored a double fracture on his right leg at the Amex Stadium but Garcia didn’t think there was any malice in Inigo Calderon’s challenge. Justin Edinburgh dedicated the win to Anthony.
