Brazil Smashes Australia In A Football Friendly

Neymar scored one goal and set up two more as Brazil defeated Australia 6-0 in a football friendly at Estadiu Nacional on Saturday. Neymar went close to scoring in the 22nd after dancing around three defenders within the penalty box, and didn’t miss in the 35th in a one-on-one with goalkeeper Mark Schwarzer to record Brazil’s third.

Jo bagged a double, both within the first half hour, and Ramires, Pato and Luiz Gustavo also scored to equal Brazil’s highest score against Australia from the 1997 Confederations Cup final. The two players who were on their tip-top in the match were Bernard and Neymar. Without their passes and last-minute tricks and dribbles, the match wouldn’t have been all that much of a bagger for the Brazilian side. On the other hand, two players who were on their downside were Ryan McGowan and Mark Schwarzer from the Australian front. It seemed like it was very easy for Neymar to get his balls through Schwarzer in the beginning of the game, considering the fact that he got his through in the very first ten minutes.

All in all it was a one-sided game that was observed and with goals being taken/given in the 8th, 34th, 36th, 58th, 73rd, 84th minute, it seemed equally distributed. The rate at which Australia lost the ball was astounding. They couldn’t have kept the ball more than three or four passes at a time, and Brazil won back possession so, so easily. The match was, of course, a massive season for all Brazilian players. They were all be angling for a place in Scolari’s World Cup squad, and there’s no better opportunity to impress than in matches like these. Evidently, The Brazilians got what they wanted, especially Jo, with his early double.
