Bethesda Pushing For Elder Scrolls Online Without Xbox Live Gold Fees

Microsoft’s Xbox One so called free-play-games games aren’t necessarily free-play.If you want to play online games on Microsoft’s Xbox One console, you’ll need to pony up the cash required for an Xbox Live Gold subscription.

Microsoft currently requires a $60/year Xbox Live Gold account to play any and all online games on the system.

Bethesda’s Pete Hines is totally aware of that, Xbox One players may not necessarily want to eat a $14.99 per-month subscription fee in addition to the fees associated with Xbox Live Gold.

“[We’re] seeing whether or not there’s any room to change their minds about that, for folks who are only paying The Elder Scrolls Online and don’t want to pay for an Xbox Live Gold subscription, just to pay The Elder Scrolls Online,” Sage said.

So far Microsoft seems to be less responsive towards these concern reportedly answering, “that’s the way it works,” but Sage promises that Bethesda will “keep on pushing” on the issue.
