Barry Levinson Has Made Bill Murray Rock The Kasbah

Bill Murray might be very difficult to contact if you are trying to make him work for movies, but our sources have told us that it isn’t very hard. By scoring Murray as the lead in his latest movie ‘Rock the Kasbah’, Barry Levinson has pulled of the trick. With Mitch Glazer writing the script, Kasbah would have Wes Anderson playing a music manager. The character goes to Afghanistan on a USO tour with a client. Various external factors and events affect his life. He ends up being broke, abandoned and loses his passport. He begins to ponder over the meaning of life and the reason to his existence. Just then, he comes across a young girl with a beautiful voice and believes that she can succeed in the entertainment industry with her voice. He decides to smuggle her back to Kabul so that she can take part in ‘The Afghan Star’, their version of X factor. With persistence and convincing the girl, he decides to move to Kabul. The entire story builds on the music manager’s confidence in the lady and his journey to Kabul.

The story is bound to strike a chord within the audience as it a story of love, philosophy, belief and most importantly struggle.

There have been no discussions regarding the beginning date of the shooting of the movie. The producers are currently thinking of kicking it off on Thursday so that it would be part of the international distribution rights at the Toronto International Film Festival. Murray is likely to be seen in ‘The Monuments Men’, by George Clooney. That movie is expected to release on the 9th of January. It is to be followed by Wes Anderson’s ‘The Grand Budapest Hotel’, which should also be released sometime in January.
