Recently, CEO Steve Ballmer, at a company meeting, admitted that the Surface RT hasn’t been performing the way they expected it to be. He alluded to the fact that the tablet has been seeing weak sales figures.
“We built a few more devices that we could sell. The languishing performance isn’t exclusive to the Surface, however; all Windows 8 products are struggling. We’re not selling as many Windows devices as we want to.” Ballmer told the Microsoft employees.
The tablet gave a $150 price drop to help sales and clear out inventories.
