Lawsuit number two this year against Facebook, this time there is a claim that the social network is using friends’ likes, the thumbs-up acknowledgement for posts, comments, and pages.
This lawsuit was filed by Anthony Ditirro of Colorado, through U.S. District Court of Northern California. According to him, his friend told that he’d appeared in an ad for USA Today on Facebook, claiming Ditirro had clicked the Like button on the newspaper.
The lawsuit had came up with restructuring of Facebook’s ad products. However, company announced that it’s killing the older products. It’s not new,as in 2012, many reports came that many dead users Likes showing up in friends and family members’ feeds.
According to company, this lawsuit is “without merit”, which is the primary and common response by any company at the starting of the lawsuits. This is second time facebook has been hit by lawsuit, as last week a lawsuit was filed alleging that the social network scans messages to determine user activity and easily target them with ads.
