According to the reports of IBM, the majority of the orders for mobile devices were for iOS devices on Christmas eve, rather than Android. If we talk about the stats, 23 percent of total online sales on Christmas in the United States were of iOS devices, while just 4.6 percent were of Android devices. Overall, online traffic from iOS devices was at 32.6 percent, compared to the 14.8 percent for Android.
The amount spent by the iOS users for the online orders was around twice as much if we compare it with Android users, it was coming in at $93.94 compared to $48.10 per order.
The IBM Digital Analytics Benchmark is used to gather these data, it analyses data from approximately 800 retail sites in the United States. Something similar was seen during Black Friday, where iOS was responsible for about 18.1% of sales compare to 3.5% for Android.
