The teenage prodigy from Manchester United, Adnan Januzaj wants to spend the rest of his career with the 20-time champions. The gifted 18 year old came into the limelight when he was given an opportunity by David Moyes this season.
Moyes didn’t want to wait too long and offered Januzaj a new five year contract, which he readily accepted. Moyes’ long term ambitions with Manchester United are clearly shown with his faith in the teenager.
“I would play all my life for Manchester United. You always need to keep working hard and if you need to get better, you need to keep both your feet on the ground and keep working and try to be the best player in the world,” Januzaj told MUTV.
“I feel the boss has given me a chance because he wants to promote the youngsters in the squad and give them as much opportunity as possible. In football, it is not about the age. If you are good enough, irrespective of your age, you need to play. Manchester United was always by first choice. Now that I have signed for them, I am pleased to be here. Winning trophies is my main focus at present and I want to become the best player,” he said.
Januzaj’s debut in the Premier league was against Sunderland in October when he made the headlines with two goals in seven and a half minutes to secure a crucial win for Manchester United.
“My debut with the club was amazing. Scoring two goals with a short span of time. I can’t ask for anything better,” he said.
“I was extremely glad with the two goals and I am looking forward to score as many as possible. That was my first game. I will definitely prove myself consistently at the highest level if I get the opportunities I am getting now,” he said.
