“A $25 Million Investment By Samsung” – To Be Set Up First Patent Firm

The Intellectual Keystone technology, expected to be coming up by Samsung through its investment of $25 million. Efforts are made in order to set up the first patent business in United States. IKT is considered to be a completely owned patent firm by Washington DC. These efforts are being continuously put by the company and the announcement has been made this week. News from Korean Times stated that the business came up in March and it is the representation of Samsung for the first time in this business.

The new patent is an independent body that has been opened up by Samsung and is dedicated to the development and trading of patent. This new startup of the business has also been confirmed by a spokesperson of Samsung. It has also been said by the Spokesperson to Korean times that when it comes to the protection of the intellectual property of the business, an effective way of doing it is to strengthen the patent business. The reason being patents is a good and reliable source of innovation.

Last year could have brought a historic defeat for Samsung when US court was in favor of Apple in the dispute between Samsung and Apple. The dispute was related to the technology of billion dollar Smartphone. Intellectual Keystone technology is not focusing on avenging the score with Apple directly with software and design patents. Instead of that, IKT will focu8s on display technology. It is said that the business will focus on LCD and OLED patents. The first deal for the new business has completed. Samsung has bought the patents that are related to display from Seiko Epsom, a Japanese firm. News has also confirmed that the deal was filed on 30th April.

The display technology business of Samsung is dominant in this industry. It has also supplied the smartphones from Apple but US firm became sharper about the larger display from iPhone 5. Samsung has increased its focus on stocking the patents of the business and in generating more revenue. Some more news was gathered by Korean Times from anonymous source and it said that Companies will pay license fee for patents.
