A new tablet named as the G-Pad has been announced by LG electronics, that will have a grand launch event at IFA 2013 next week. It was revealed by the company that the tablet will possess a 8.3 inch Display screen and run the latest Android Jelly bean 4.2.2. Full specs have been declared by the company, but still the price is kept as a secret until its official launch.
The G Pad is claimed to available worldwide in Q4 of this year. The tablet is pumped up with a 1.7GHz Quad-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 Processor that would run the applications seamlessly. It will also feature a 5MP rear Camera and 1.3MP front-facing camera with 2GB of RAM and 16 GB storage memory. It will be featuring 2 colors- Black and whit and will weigh 338 grams.
The official announcement about the G Pad was revealed through a YouTube video uploaded by the company’s channel itself. If the G series of the company turns out to be a successful campaign the, the company plans to launch a super phone named as the G2.
Bigger yet thinner: G Pad is pumped up with a 4600mAh battery and weighs just 338 grams. But when one compares it against the iPad Mini that has a 7.9-inch display, the G Pad turns out to be 38 grams heavier.
Full HD Display Tablet: The Tablet is claimed to feature a 1900 x 1200 resolution Full HD display at 273 pixels per inch that would make it easier for the consumers to watch movies, play games, and everything else that they do on the tablet to emerge sharp and clear. When compared with iPad Mini that has a 1024×768 resolution at 163 pixels per inch, LG claims the winning title in this category.
Integration with QPair: Through this unique piece of software, the company claims that one can see incoming calls and messages. This is interesting as while one can’t actually take voice calls on the device, you could respond to them in texts as QPair permits the G Pad to easily connect to other manufacturers’ smartphone and tablets having Jelly Bean OS.
LG flaunts that G Pad also includes ‘real-life benefits’ that consists of multitasking with its slide aside feature – Three-finger swipe, QSlide – that allows one to control up to three different apps without any interruption, and also KnockOn, which is a feature that lets one turn the device on and off just by tapping on it twice. The tablet is not available yet and it will be sold worldwide beginning in the fourth quarter in North Europe, America and Asia in addition to some other regions. It is still unstated if this will be a WiFi only device or it will available on mobile carriers like T-Mobile, Verizon, Sprint or AT&T.
As per the information and specs of G Pad that LG has provided, the tablet appears to be an appealing tablet for people to buy? However it will have a tough competition from iPad Mini and Google Nexus 7 tablet. To tackle these tablet giants LG will have to represent G Pad’s features prominently in the software based area at the event, given that its hardware is pretty much a winner.
