Whatsapp Record Of 27 Billion Messages In A Single Day

The recent hit updates reveal the fact of the processing of 27 billion messages by the mobile messaging service Whatsapp in a single day of 24 hours by the Whatsapp users globally. This news has been openly and proudly declared in the media by the Whatsapp Company itself. This particular figure has clearly beaten the figure of 18 billion recorded in the last year when the company broke down the figures to know the details then they found that out of 27 billion messages, 10 billion messages are the inbound messages from the Whatsapp users and the rest 17 billion were received.

The company explained that the reason for this increased figure is that it highly included the group messages during the group chat where one message is forwarded to 10 people altogether at the time of chat which includes 1:10 ratio of the inbound and outbound messages. This messaging app allows free messaging to both individuals and groups over few selected devices which include Windows Phone, Blackberry, IOS, Android, Symbian and lots more. The company has also posted this outstanding figure of messaging in their Twitter account for mass awareness.

Whatsapp has not only beaten its own previous year’s record but has also beaten the growth rate of Facebook and Twitter within the last 6 months from last New year eve. Jan Koum, CEO of Whatsapp has shared recently the fact of having more than 200 million active monthly users which is much higher than Twitter though the exact total number of registered users is still unknown to them.

The company has also publicly revealed their official contractual tie up with Nokia where their physical Whatsapp button has been used in Nokia Asha 210. Analyst Benedict Evans clearly pointed out that the messaging figures of Whatsapp have also beaten badly the messaging figures of Blackberry who at one point of time was the pioneer position holder in the world of messaging services. This time Blackberry has only recorded 10 billion messages including both the send and received ones.

Rest of the messaging giants of Asia like China’s WeChat, Japan’s Line, India’s Nimbuzz and others are now only revealing the number of their registered users but not the messaging count. Most of them are highly following the subscription rates of Whatsapp for staying alive in the market. The upcoming news say that recently Whatsapp is planning to concentrate in the contents but that is still quite far off thought.
