The Behavior Of Screenshots Has Been Altered By iOS 7 In Favor Of The Users

The details of the number of new features of iOS 7 of beta 2 were set in full details. In spite of this there were small changes that were sent by MacRumors. This change went unnoticed from the time the first beta had been released on the 10th of June. The screenshot behavior of iOS 7 had been altered. The active touches have no longer been cancelled while the screenshots were taken by the users. The change was minor but the implications were quite great on it.

It had its implications on numerous apps that relied on the screenshots in order to notify the users. These notifications were given because of the unwanted behavior like that of Facebook Poke and Snap chat. When the user will be opening a photo on the app, it required to place a figure on the screen. It was needed to open the photo and hold it in that state while it was being viewed. The new activity of taking snapshots interrupted the methods of viewing photographs. In addition to it instead of keeping it in the open state, the photo was closed down. This method was used by Snapchat in order to detect an illegal snapshot.

This had also been used in order to notify the sender of the photograph that the snapshot has already been saved. This was not the case in iOS 7 because the photo viewing window was no longer closed down after taking a screenshot. It did not happen in Snapchat which implied that there will be no notifications that will be sent on the captured screenshot. Screenshots did not interrupt any more upon touching the screen, the photos continued to stay open.

The app will not be able to recognize the action of the screenshot. Not only this, the users of iOS 7 will get a notification if a user of iOS 6 will take a screen shot of the photo that has been sent across. However the reverse will not be true. The detection of screenshot by Snap chat can be considered as a safety measure in order to preserve the privacy of the photos.
