Sequel To World War Z On Its Way

Brad Pitt confirmed that wheels are in motion for the World War Z sequel. The star who was recently caught at the Toronto International Film festival revealed that a script is being worked on for the sequel. He also said that there were “so many new ideas on the table”. He added that ultimately a sequel is entirely dependent on the strength of the script though, saying: We got to get the script right first to determine if we go further.

The first movie was directed by Marc Foster. It was an apocalyptic film that received very good response. It is loosely based on the 2006 novel by Max Brooks that had the same name. The film has Brad Pitt starring as Gerry Lane, a former United Nations investigator who must travel the world to find a way to stop a zombie-like pandemic. Pitt’s Plan B Entertainment secured the film rights in 2007 and Forster was approached to direct. In 2009, Carnahan was hired to rewrite the script to the film. The first film was a commercial success. It made over $ 530 Million, although it was made only on a $ 190 Million budget.

The problem that the lead actor has pointed out with the making of the sequel is that, he believes that at first, they have to be very ready with the script and the problem with that aspect he believes is that, there are too many ideas on their minds. It is true that when people have too many thoughts in their mind, it is very difficult to think straight and work with one true plan. In one way, it is a good thing that there are abundant ideas, but in another aspect, it might soil things. As they say, “Too many cooks spoil the broth”.
