Oculus Rift Production Stopped

Oculus Rift development kits are no longer being manufactured, owing to a materials shortage. The news has been confirmed by an oculus spokesperson.

While the corporate still has limited stock of the dev. kits, it warns that there’s no official timeline for production to recommence. “We are looking into alternate sources for the required elements, and we do not yet have a timeline for when the extra units will be available. We’ll take care to keep everybody posted,” mentioned the company’s Oculus Rift Subreddit.

Sales are suspended in every region as stock has diminished. Units are still available in USA, Canada, EU, Australia, Japan, South Korea, Switzerland and Norway. Around $75 million was raised in funding in 2013 to help bring a client version of the Oculus Rift to the market.
