BlackBerry Z10 Smartphone Launched

RIM (Research In Motion), has finally launched the much awaited BlackBerry Z10 Smartphone, the first device that runs the Blackberry 10 OS. And it seems like the device will be a worthy competitor to Apple’s iPhone and Samsung’s Androids.

The BlackBerry Z10 is 0.35 inch thin, with a 4.2-inch screen and a display of 1,280 x 768 (at 356 dpi). It has a 1.5GHz dual-core Snapdragon processor, and an 8MP rear facing camera and a 2MP front facing camera. One of the new and awesome features in this phone is the Hub- you don’t have to shuffle between your email, messages or other notifications, because conveniently enough the Hub puts them all in one place. You can even set the Hub to display notifications or messages from only one app at one point of time.

The BlackBerry Messenger in BlackBerry 10 has also been upgraded, as it now includes Video Chat and Screen Sharing. But of course, there had to be a disappointment- video chats can only take place between BlackBerry Z10 phones. Another fun feature is the ‘Time Shift’ feature in the cameras. Once you activate it, click someone’s picture and if their eyes are closed or, they see something disturbing (like a huge spider) at the last minute, resulting in a strained expression, just tap on the person’s face and you can go backward or forward in time to select the perfect face, the device being capable of photo-shopping people’s expressions.

The BlackBerry Z10 in an excellent device, but it’s going to be a tough battle between this one and the iPhone, and let’s not forget Samsung’s Galaxy phones.
